Personal Background

I enjoy working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and speak German, English, and French fluently. If you are looking for a therapist who is comfortable with cross-cultural, medical, or sexual issues, I may be the right person for you. My primary interests are women’s health, sex & couple therapy, and medical hypnosis.

I was born and raised in Germany and completed training as a psychologist at the University of Berlin. I later immigrated to North America and completed a Ph.D. in clinical psychology at McGill University, in Canada. I pursued postdoctoral work at Harvard Medical School, in Boston.

In both my personal and professional life, I am passionate about women’s health and improving health and personal well-being on many levels. I completed my first training on the treatment of sexual dysfunction in 1992, first training on the use of hypnotic techniques in 1995, and have been practicing yoga and meditation since the mid 80’s.

Throughout my career I have had many opportunities to present to different audiences – including social workers, public health researchers, physicians, psychologists, nurses, and others. I enjoy travelling to conferences, writing articles, and have received several rewards for my work.

As a busy woman balancing work and family, I only have a limited number of openings in my private practice.
